Chad is a native of Bristol Tennessee.  He received his B.S. degree in Athletic Training in 1998 from Appalachian State University working with baseball, football, basketball and soccer teams.  He was awarded an internship with the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society, working with the Hickory Crawdads in 1997. Chad earned his certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the NSCA and his Athletic Training certification from the NATA in 1998.  He received his Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2001 from Western Carolina University.  

Before joining Oak Ridge PT, Chad worked for Proehlific Park and Wake Forest Baptist Hospital as manager and lead therapist for their PT clinic, treating general population and professional athletes. He worked for Greensboro Orthopaedics for 14 years treating orthopaedic conditions, overseeing custom foot orthotics fabrication, and provided athletic training services at many community and ACC sporting events. Chad has been a speaker at several meetings and symposiums for allied health care professionals and has served as clinical preceptor and guest lecturer for UNC-G Athletic Training Program. He has a special interest in throwing athletes and runners, is certified in dry needling and utilizes a variety of evaluation techniques and treatment methods to individualize patient care and maximize outcomes.

Outside of work Chad enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, mountain biking and coaching baseball.
