From the time the first patient walked through the door in October 2008, GOD has blessed Oak Ridge Physical Therapy. Early in 2008, Andy Michels, with the encouragement of his family and much prayer, decided to take the plunge and launch his own independent physical therapist owned practice. Andy began this outpatient orthopaedic and sports physical therapy facility after working 16 years with physicians at Greensboro Orthopaedics and two years treating Division I athletes at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Oak Ridge Physical Therapy has earned the respect of the community and the surrounding area and is the trusted go-to local source for rehabilitation. In the last 9 years, Oak Ridge Physical Therapy has treated over 4000 patients referred by over 450 medical providers. Patients are referred by physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners, as well as, patients who come directly with no referral. Oak Ridge Physical Therapy staff has treated athletes and students from Northwest Guilford, Northern Guilford, McMichael, Grimsley, and South Stokes High Schools, as well as the Oak Ridge Military Academy.
